Jose Mourinho reveals “untouchable” player in his Manchester United squad

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho,
has said that Romelu Lukaku is “untouchable”.
Lukaku has so far scored seven Premier League
goals since joining Red Devils from Everton for
£75million last summer, although he has
suffered a slight dip in form recently.

The Belgium striker again failed to find the net
in United’s 1-0 win over Tottenham at Old
Trafford – his fifth game without scoring –
prompting some criticisms from fans.
But Mourinho has come in support of the
powerful frontman, insisting that he deserves
respect, for his contribution to the team.
He said, “The fans are the fans and I also told
that the fans paid their ticket, they are free to
express themselves the way they want to
express but my job is to protect my players and
I think Romelu is one of the players that should
be untouchable in terms of the respect from
everyone.
“It’s not one goal or one ball that hit the post
or one that can make Romelu contribution below
the top level, he’s playing extremely well for us
and I have to protect my players when I feel
they deserve it and Romelu always deserves it
because what he does for the team is fantastic,
and playing football for a striker is not just
about scoring goals.

“So untouchable in my team and also in the
support and respect he deserves from the fans.”
